Experience

Over the span of 20 years I have taught Spanish on the University level and spent 7 years teaching Spanish at Hopewell High School in Hopewell Va. During that time, I taught Spanish 1-4 and AP Spanish Literature or Language and Culture. For the 2014-2015 school year, I taught ESL/ELL on the primary level (4th and 5th grade) in Indonesia. I served as Department Chair for two years and National Spanish Honor Society sponsor for 2 years (Hopewell HS). I have attended numerous classes/seminars through 'BER' and took a courses to support AP Spanish language and Culture, and AP Literature through Goucher College, George Mason University and William and Mary. I want to tutor because I like helping people with language. Plus, I need an income even- in the summer.

Hobbies

I have an enthusiasm for music, drawing and reading. I thoroughly enjoy the outdoors. After living in Indonesia, Richmond isn't nearly as hot as I remember. I also would like to mention that I have taught kids from all economic backgrounds and students with various challenges. My son has Asperger's and I have taught students who have had it, too. As a result, I am very sensitive to students with special needs (according to my experiences).
